6 Days Samburu & Masai Mara Fly-in Safari

Day 1: Drive from Nairobi to Samburu

Meet and greet at Jomo Kenyatta Airport upon your arrival in Nairobi. After a short introduction and briefing, you will be driven to Samburu through beautiful farmlands as you head north towards the semi-arid countryside of the colorful Samburu tribesmen. You will arrive at the lodge for lunch and rest followed by afternoon game viewing; animals in Samburu include rare grants gazelle, gerenuk, gravy’s zebra, beisa Oryx and other rare wild plants. As the sun sets you are transferred back to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

After early breakfast, you will depart for a rewarding morning game drives within Samburu Park in the company of your experienced tour driver. Enjoy uninterrupted photography sessions stopping frequently to spot and observe animals in nature. Break for lunch at the lodge then after some rest, you will spend the afternoon inside the park watching animals and looking for the lion during the afternoon’s program. Settle back to your lodge in the evening for a relaxing bath as you wait for dinner to be served.

Day 3: Fly to to Masai Mara

Early breakfast then check out of the hotel for a short transfer to the airstrip to board the morning flight to Masai Mara which departs at 1005hrs. You will reach Masai Mara (Olkiombo Airstrip) at 1130hrs and meet the camp driver waiting for you ready for a mid-morning game drive en route to the camp for check in and hot lunch. By this time of year, the wildebeest crossing is very active therefore there are many animals in Masai Mara. After lunch, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park for a chance to spot the big five animals and bird species as well as many herbivores. As the sun sets in the evening, you are transferred back to the camp for dinner and rest.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 4&5: Masai Mara

Enjoy 2 full days of game viewing with picnic lunch for a chance to explore the park.  The river banks and the marsh regions are also best to spot the cats. After lunch continue with an afternoon game drive with an option of visiting a Masai village. Balloon safaris are also available on request and take place early in the morning before sunrise at a cost of $450 per person. After the game drives you are transferred back to the camp for rest and dinner.

Day 6: Drive back to Nairobi / Transfer to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta Airport

After breakfast you will check out of the camp and enjoy a final morning game drive in Masai Mara for a chance to see animals as the sun rises. You will then exit from the park and drive back to Nairobi with a lunch stop at Narok Town. Proceed to Nairobi arriving in the evening. On arrival you are transferred to your most preferred location in the city (hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport).
